Lt. Gen. Hun Manet Gives Three Recommendations to New Officers

STUNG TRENG: The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, congratulated the officers of the 128th Intervention Brigade of the 1st Military Zone, who received new positions approved by the Ministry of National Defense.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony for the officers of the 128th Intervention Brigade, 1st Military Zone, that received new positions in Stung Treng Province on Thursday, 9 March 2023, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet gave three tasks to the leaders of the command line to maintain the achievements made by previous generation of leaders, who continue to build and strengthen additional units and prepare the foundation for officers to take turns and work together with good internal unity for the next generation.

He praised Intervention Brigade 128 in the 1st Military Zone army, as well as all the institutions and units under the 1st Military Zone, who have worked hard to protect Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity along the border, in cooperation with local authorities and relevant institutions, to maintain public order and safety for the people.

He said that in the past, peace, political and macroeconomic stability, as well as public security – the foundation for development and peaceful living – have been vigorously protected by combined national forces who are strongly unified around the Royal Government led by Prime Minister Hun Sen. He especially highlighted the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces as a national armed force that has always been loyal to the nation, religion, and King.

"Strengthening national defense is a constitutional obligation, to strengthen the capacity of the Armed Forces to maintain peace, stability, security and public order, all of which are part of the ongoing reform process of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, in accordance with the state of development in all areas of the country,” said Lt. Gen. Hun Manet.

He added that the army, along with subordinate units, need to continue pushing forward their reform process in order to respond effectively and keep pace with the evolving situation.
